ver wondered how sun protection factor (SPF) ratings are calculated? They’re determined by comparing the time it takes for intense ultra-violet rays (UVR) ‘to journal from Australia’s Sax Institute. In other words, SPF is calculated by how long it takes someone to burn with or without sun cream. If you would normally burn in ten minutes, SPF 15 means it will take 150 minutes.
