Orias’ interest in fashion began when he was in his second year in college as an Industrial Engineering student at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila. That time, his family went on a weekend getaway in Singapore.
“I realized that this industry is pretty huge!” he says. “Seeing how fashion brands dominated and controlled every and any culture, sobrang fascinating! Imagine the season of clothes changing.”
He also calls himself a frustrated fine arts student, sharing that there were times in his freshman year when he used his friends’ College of Fine Arts and Design uniform when he entered his own classes.
Orias admits that his design process is gready influenced by his engineering training, where he has stages: from concept to sourcing to production development and so on. Backed by experience and learnings from his Master of Business Administration degree, as well as his entrepinoy (Filipino entrepreneur) background, Orias is now more strategic in creating and releasing pieces or collections.
