You were born in the province of Cagliari and progressed through the ranks with the Rossoblu, making your senior debut in 1986 aged 17. How proud were you to represent your local team?

Getting the chance to play for my hometown team was a dream come true. Being able to play in the team of our city represented the highest aspiration for kids back then. Luckily I succeeded and played for Cagliari for many years, enjoying some memorable successes along the way. That makes me really happy, I must admit – as does the fact that I could always rely on the support of my family and friends, who followed me around the country cheering me on with the Rossoblu.
