Getting out on the road, legally, can appear baffling today. Gone are the days of haggling a deal for a rust bucket in a kid’s backyard, praying to the almighty it’ll scrape through an MoT, phoning up Swinton Insurance (or some other pen pusher) then nipping to the post office for a tax disc (although even some of the above appeared as optional extras for lads in the past). No. Today things are a lot tighter on the regulation front.
