IF YOU begin with a bare block, I can tell you how to blueprint that engine. ‘Blueprinting’ is the process of re-manufacturing an engine back to its precise standards when originally designed. Along the factory machining line, allowances are made for errors, known as tolerances, which can mean lower compression ratios, camshaft timing out by plenty of degrees, uneven cylinder bores and differing crankshaft strokes. So the aim with blueprinting is to vastly improve those tolerances.
