closet mod

Back in the early days of air travel, it was common for holidaymakers to arrive at the departure gate in their finest two-piece suits. Closet Mod’s new collection, Arrival, harks back to that glamorous time – and judging by the array of jaunty frocks and button-ups on display, they’re dressing travellers headed straight to Carnaby Street. Swing by closetmod.com to see more, or throw your hat in the ring at frankie.com.au/win for a chance to score the Heathrow dress in your size (pictured left).

diana dawn

Arizona lass Diana Dawn is not your average hatter. Armed with nimble fingers and a keen eye, she carefully embroiders her custom hats with soaring eagles, blazing sunsets, pine forests and other intricate designs. Desert dwellers, festival-goers and bohemian road-trippers can find them at dianadawwwn.com

fancy a shag?

When Sydney maker Rachel Castle created this showstopping shag cushion, she thought it apt to name her Priscilla. Made of 100 per cent cotton and dyed in desert hues, Priscilla could bring a whole busload of glamour to even the drabbest space. Pick her up stuffed ($119) or unstuffed ($89) from castleandthings.com.au

see my vest

Once favoured by grandpas, professorial types and on-screen dorks like Chandler Bing, the knitted vest has had a rather hip makeover as of late. Case in point: this stripy wool and mohair number from Nancybird, $179 at nancybird.com. It offers a flattering shrunken fit, warmth for your middle and uninhibited arm movement. Now who could argue with that?

a chinwag with… willow giles from dusty

Annie, our lead vocalist, always wanted to name a pet cat Dusty. It’s a coincidence, as my grandparents’ cat was calledOcean Alley, Spacey Jane or WAAX. We all feel super-inspired after watching other bands perform and after our own gigs, as we get to reflect on our playing and work on ways we can improve. We also draw from personal experiences – from relationships and friendships to partying and late-night adventures. It’s intense and full of other like-minded musicians. There’s an abundance of local bands around Brissie and everyone is really supportive. Have a bougie tour of the world, then party heaps! High energy, good vibes and flawless fashion.

An Autism Diagnosis? In This Economy?
I’m good at pretending to be comfortable. People often comment on how laid-back I am, even in stressful situations. In high school, my friends would laugh when I gave oral presentations because my voice would unintentionally sound relaxed and convers

Living in a city that arrogantly, but accurately, describes itself as one of the world’s best cities for coffee is a blessing and a curse. The blessing is obvious: the coffee in most areas rates. The cons: well, they’re more complex. Firstly, any per
