‘Flour is IN MY BLOOD’

I’m from a family of bakers, so going into the business was always going to happen – not that my teenage self thought so. Even in the photo of my great-great-grandma’s 90th birthday (where I’m already doing the GBBO stance), we’re standing in front of cakes. She was great at making meringues and cream – on their own, no fancy flavours.

I grew up in and around bakeries. Dad was a baker, my brother Lee is a baker, and my uncles Ralph and Billy worked with Dad. We used to help out in the shops.
