Ernie Jones’ 1928 Dodge Brothers Senior sedan is mostly original thanks, at least in part, to an odd chapter in its history long before it was auctioned in Otego, N.Y.
“It belonged to a gentleman in Unadilla by the name of Sylvester Lord,” said Jones. “ … The car sat in a garage in Unadilla, New York, and I’m from Unadilla. I never knew it was in there. I had no idea.”
“When Ernie found this car,” said Roger Ree, a good friend of Jones who’s helped with every step, “one of the things we found in the pocket of the car was a bunch of shotgun shells.”
