Now a suburb of Preston, Lancashire, Cottam was once a rural community and home to Cottam Hall. The manor house was owned by the Haydocks, a prominent Catholic family who suffered persecution for their faith. Local resident Gary Cunliffe discovered the Haydocks through his passion for making short films about local history.
