Easy, Tiguan!

It’s no secret that South Africa’s legislation on towing weight is particularly restrictive. Manufacturers boast (quite rightly so) about their vehicles having a “decent” towing capacity – there are even bakkies that can tow up to 3 500 kg.

And so, Volkswagen’s figure of 2 200 kg sounds very promising for the 2 ℓ Tiguan – it means there are only six of the more than 200 caravans on the market* that you can’t hitch to the Tiguan. Legislation, however, requires the GVM of what you’re towing
