Not only is the Landrek Peugeot's first bakkie in decades, but also its first double-cab. It's not that surprising, since double cabs are popular vehicles, and if there is one thing these rigs are geared for, it's towing.
The Landtrek's 1,9 ℓ diesel engine is quie small. It's completely understandable to doubt such a small engine's ability, but Volkswagen silenced all the sceptics regarding this issue about 12 years ago. At the time, the Amarok's 2 ℓ engine was also the smallest engine among its competitors.That engine produced 90 kW and 340 Nm, while Landrek's 1,9 ℓ produces 110 kW and 350 Nm respectively. Amarok's 2 ℓ engine has proven itself and there's therefore no reason to look askance at the Landtrek's engine.
