Where would we be without a bit of ‘do it yourself’ expertise?

he other week, I pulled into my usual parking space at the supermarket, and noticed a car parked a couple of spots away, with the bonnet up, and two people peering into the engine compartment. It was evident that their car wouldn’t start. As I’d approached them from the rear of the vehicle, I helpfully said, “Well there’s your problem; your exhaust has fallen off!” — knowing full well it was an electric vehicle (EV). I added that I would be of no use in getting them on their way.
