Over the course of the 19th century, football in England went from being a game for amateurs with roots in public schools to one played by working-class professionals. Corinthian-Casuals Football Club, which was formed in 1939 and still plays today, is the amalgamation of two amateur clubs, Corinthian FC and Casuals FC.
