CHEESECAKE CARAMEL BROWNIES

MAKES 20 LARGE BROWNIES PREPARATION & BAKING: 120 MIN

BROWNIES

185g butter
120g dark chocolate
5ml (1t) instant coffee powder
3 eggs
180g (225ml) dark brown sugar
100g (190ml) cake flour
40g (100ml) cocoa powder, plus extra for dusting
5ml (1t) baking powder
2,5ml (½t) salt
120g dark chocolate chips tossed in 5ml (1t) cake flour
1 can (360g) Caramel Treat
100g (160ml) toasted, chopped hazelnuts, lightly salted (optional)

TOPPING

300g cream cheese
80g (95ml) castor sugar
2 eggs
5ml (1t) vanilla essence or vanilla seeds from 1 pod
15ml (1T) cake flour

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease and line a 21cm x 29cm baking sheet with baking paper.

1 Brownies Place the butter, dark chocolate and coffee in a saucepan on low heat, stirring until melted. Remove from the heat and leave to cool.

2 Beat the eggs and sugar until light and foamy, then add the cooled chocolate mixture. Whisk lightly to combine.
