Much airtime is given to ‘balancing’ hormones and ‘work/life balance’ during midlife and beyond, but what about our physical balance? It’s easy to take stability for granted, but research suggests we’re likely to feel less steady on our feet as the years pass and this, in turn, leaves us at risk of falls and fractures. It’s estimated that one-third of adults aged 65 and over fall at least once a year, and one-fifth fall multiple times a year.
