Taken to the grave

She was a shy little schoolgirl with shiny, dark hair and a gap between her front teeth.

Marise Ann Chiverella, 9, attended a church school and dreamt of becoming a nun.

At home, she’d play the pipe organ with her siblings – Barry, Carmen-Marie, Ronald and David.

On 18 March 1964, Marise left the family home in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, carrying a parcel of canned food for her teacher.

She was seen at 8.10am, hurrying to get to St Joseph’s Parochial School for morning Mass. But Marise never arrived
