About this ebook
There are killers who stalk their prey, learning all they can about an intended target before striking. Some commit the act of murder out of hatred or revenge for someone in their lives. Killers like Detlev Guenzel searched for like-minded souls who would allow them to indulge in their deepest darkest fantasies. Then of course, there are those who brutally murder for no apparent reason whatsoever.
Each of the four true crime murder cases in this true crime anthology are all different from each other in many ways. The wife who was cast aside for a much younger model; the vore who sought out a willing participant in the act of consensual homicide and cannibalism; the young man who butchered his elderly neighbours; and the man whose partners either disappeared or turned up dead over the period of 54 years.
For these true crime murder stories we delve into the background of each killer, the acts they committed, and the criminal investigation that brought them down. We look at why they killed, even when there seems to be no apparent motive. True murder cases like these are hard to fathom, and will leave you wondering about the horrors of humanity. True crime stories are the most frightening of all, as you discover what people have the capability of doing to others.
This is a prequel to Jack Rosewood's best true crime books series, True Crime Stories.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Interesting read
Succinct and informative with an interesting perspective. I'm intrigued. I enjoyed it very much and would definitely read another. Keep them coming. The depth of each individual story gives you the sense of almost being there every step. I almost feel like I could have been in the courtroom or on one of those juries. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book only includes four crime stories. There was enough information in each of them to understand the cases. It was interesting reading and difficult to understand how someone could be convicted on evidence alone. But there have been many cases when this has happened. Enjoyed reading the cases.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5A regurgitation of information that is available in true crime books already published. Disappointing and boring.

Introduction
There are many types of murderers that live among us, many of whom seem like normal, well-respected members of the community they live in. Some even wear a uniform, sworn to protect and serve the people, yet harbor dark and dangerous fantasies and longings unknown to those around them.
Murder rips a person from their life in such a brutal and horrific manner that it leaves those behind with many unanswered questions. Often, the answers they seek are never given by the murderer, and there is never any type of closure. Then, there are the murderers that happily talk about what they have done, smiling and reliving every evil moment with more than an ounce of pleasure.
This book contains the stories of four very different murderers; the man with the missing wives; the woman who was scorned by a cheating husband; the neighbor that decided to kill the couple next door; and the police officer who indulged in murder and cannibalism.
Each case is more shocking than the last, and most are fairly recent crimes. The story of Betty Broderick will tear at the hearts of women who have perhaps been in her shoes, and although they may have had the same thoughts as Betty, they most likely didn’t take it as far as she did. What makes Betty different from any other woman who has been betrayed?
In the case of Felix Vail, why did it take one murdered wife and two missing before anyone considered he may be responsible? It’s really beyond coincidental that one man should lose three women in his life. It took 54 years for someone to fully investigate, and the more they looked into his life, the more shocking coincidences they found.
We are all a little intrigued by the act of murder, some of us much more than others. For some it is the details of the crime itself, but for others it is the meaning behind the killing. What makes a person cross that line between thinking about murder and actually committing it? Why are some people capable and others are not?
Each of these murders is interesting in its own right, and there is plenty of information surrounding the killer, as well as the acts they committed. You may be shocked, horrified, or terrified by these cases, but most of all, you will be fascinated by how different they are from each other. Murder happens every minute of every day, around the world, and in all walks of life. The more we learn, the better we can understand what makes them this way.
Chapter 1: Felix Vail
When Felix Vail’s first wife died in an apparent tragic accident, people sympathized with the man and his infant son. Even when his partner disappeared years later, again, it seemed like a horrible coincidence. But when his second wife vanished, suspicions arose that perhaps Vail was hiding a terrible secret. What followed was the closure of one of the oldest cold cases in America, and the arrest of the
