The Brightest New Name in Queensland!

It’s always difficult when considering changing the name of something that’s been so well-known and enjoyed, by so many, over so many years, especially when it comes to something within the large, diverse equine industry. When it comes to clubs and associations, I know first-hand why people can feel very personally and historically connected. You see, I was there at the very beginning of the original club and was proud to have been its very first President. I fully understand that without taking anything away from the long history of the club, a change of name was something that had to happen. Now that it’s done, the club’s committee and members alike couldn’t be happier and are looking forward to a bright future, and many more great shows and events!

Lynda Hicks, Club President, says that due to the fact that the club’s original name was not linked to the area of the Sunshine Coast, things were difficult when applying for funding, or when it came to seeking any local sponsorship from Sunshine Coast businesses.
