IT MAY LOOK PRISTINE, but Emma Hawkins’s farmhouse in Victoria’s Barrabool Hills carries the scars of its smallest inhabitants. “Our youngest, Primrose, has just drawn all over every single wall,” says Emma ruefully. “And on the dining chairs and even on the grand piano – it’s 150 years old, my grandmother’s grandmother shipped it over from England, but she’s drawn all over the ivory.”
