MUMM IS a renowned Champagne; its Germanic name pronounced quite differently from our derivative for mother. A decade ago, Chester Osborn launched a d’Arenberg sparkling he named DADD, in honour of his dad, grandad and great-grandad. The wine was good, but the Champenoise didn’t like the name.
