Biarritz or bust
It had been a long 18 months and we craved sunshine and space. Where better to grab that than in France?
On my computer is a ‘hols list’ that has been my trusted guide for umpty-umpt years. It’s been tweaked and twiddled to near perfection and the quantity of T-shirts that ‘him indoors’ wants to take has been seriously whittled down to manageable numbers. Coping not only with the new rules introduced by Brexit, but also the paperwork required for Covid at that time, caused a serious cracking of knuckles as I hunkered down to tweak the list, wondering if this was all just a devious plot to stop us from leaving the country.
Was it worth the hassle? Yes!
France has that certain je ne sais quoi that draws us back time and time again. It is so colourful, so diverse and so large, that you need never travel the same road twice, combined with that strangely enticing, unique aroma of pine forests, freshly baked baguettes and bide-a-while cafés and all stirred in with that essential ingredient – lots of sunshine!
