As those who know me well will tell you, gin is my spirit of choice. However, during a recent touring holiday in France, I developed quite a taste for cognac. Well, when you discover that there are close to 200 distilleries in the beautiful Cognac region, and your route takes you virtually past their doorsteps, it would be a shame not to investigate.

Besides, one of the many joys of touring is the ability to go wherever your fancy takes you, and to detour when you feel like it. So it was that we found ourselves at Camping de Cognac, located conveniently just on the outskirts of this lovely little town.
