BATORA: LOST HAVEN

Balancing a feature set and mechanical elegance can present designers with a challenge. Throw too many different ideas in, and contrasting systems can clash, undermining purity of experience. So Stormind Games has made a bold move in embellishing its action-RPG with hack-and-slash, twin stick shooter, and narrative elements.

Presented from a dynamic isometric perspective, is a game driven by its story, casting you as Avril, a spirited young woman who steps up to restore Earth to its former glory after it’s ravished by a devastating event. Avril has been granted powers that come in two flavors—physical and mental. Hopping between each, these abilities present a duality system that frames how you approach melee combat, ranged attacks, regular environmental puzzle solving, and more.
