arpenter Brut is the artistic alter ego of Frenchman Franck Hueso, who is one of the most successful acts in synthwave. The project‘s aesthetic is based on B-movie horror, metal and the 80s. Wait, metal? Yes, metal, because Bret Halford, the fictional character of Carpenter Brut’s lyrics is a metal fan, wannabe rock star and stupidly, a murderer.
