Alfie Templeman: Mellow Moon

omehow the title „Mellow Moon“ is a bit misleading as Alfie Templeman‘s debut is more of a sunshine album. The young musician (he is just 19 years old) is self-taught and produces most of his music himself in his parents‘ house in Bedfordshire. The 14 songs offer an easygoing mix of funk, RnB, Indie Pop, Disco and Electronica and put you in a good mood. You don‘t really hear that they were part of the artist‘s self-therapy and that he had to go through a deep valley beforehand. The pieces are inspired by Steve Lacy, Khruangbin, Leon Bridges as well as Todd Rundgren and sometimes remind of late Balthazar. Easily accessible and radio-friendly, but also nicely groovy,
