We all know about Volvo Penta, the most recognised diesel engine export from Sweden. But how many of us, outside of trucking circles, know about Scania?

Formed in 1911, Scania is now a subsidiary of Traton, which in turn is a part of the Volkswagen Group, also the owner of MAN Truck and Bus. Scania concentrates on manufacturing long haul trucks and the 16.4L 076M, first marinised in 2015, is the most powerful engine in the V8 diesel range. It’s rated for patrol boat usage, which most likely means light duty commercial and around 1000 hours of usage per year.
