“Hello everyone, all duahs and prayers needed and very much appreciated. I got my results back and I have been diagnosed with cancer. I’ll be taking it one day at a time. I’m staying positive and I put all my faith in the Almighty and I’ll be seen to by great doctors. Love you all so, so much.”

With this social media post in December last year, Fatima Sydow announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer. As we’ve come to know Fatima, she’s positive, despite the diagnosis. The month before, nagging pain on the bottom of her left foot had told her that something was wrong. Instead of going away, a “ball” formed underneath her foot. “I had problems walking and couldn’t wear normal shoes. I was in a lot of pain. I thought it might have been an injury from walking, or that I’d been on my feet too
