THE SALINAS VALLEY, WEST OF THE SAN Joaquin Valley and south of San Francisco Bay and the Santa Clara Valley in California, is famous for many reasons. It’s the birthplace of author John Steinbeck, who adopted the region as the setting for his panoramic stories about the American working poor.
