Canaries Month by Month: MARCH

MARCH: the preparations are almost over, and most of the UK’s canary breeders are contemplating when to pull the slides and let the 2022 breeding season commence. Our smaller canary breeds are usually quicker off the mark than the larger breeds, which carry more feather and are less active, generally speaking. For Yorkshire and Norwich breeders, it probably means that we have another few weeks to wait until breeding gets into full swing, especially for those breeders who, like me, rely on local weather conditions rather than using additional heating and lighting before we begin with breeding.
