Russia is a significant exporter of grain. It is also integrated into global agriculture as a supplier of inputs, particularly fertiliser, and is a leading supplier of the key ingredients for a range of these.
It is therefore important to keep track of the impact of the Russia-Ukraine conflict on various transmission channels, and the knock-on effect they could have on Africa’s agricultural markets.
