There were three generations living at the large, rural house in Edgerton in Missouri.

The home belonged to Russell and Shirley Denham.

Russell, 82, had been in the US Air Force and had met British-born Shirley, 81, when he was working in England. After their marriage in 1957, they had travelled the world with Russell’s military career and then when he retired, they settled in Edgerton.

Shirley had worked at the local bank for 20 years and they were both active with the church, but it was their family that meant everything to Shirley and Russell.
