Within a couple of days, we reached our 50 shooter limit. To be honest, I was taken by surprise and hit a bit of a panic as I had expected maybe 20 shooters. Luckily for me, James Devine, who had just motivated and raised funds to purchase seven tablets for SAPRF scoring, came to the rescue. James jumped in boots and all and took over the registration, squadding and match set-up. His help alleviated the pressure, so we decided to extend the shooter limit to 60. Again, this filled up within hours, and we unfortunately had to put a number of shooters on the waiting list.
Ludy Starke and his dedicated team worked hard
The shoot itself was hosted by the Long-Range Precision Club on its field range at the Western Cape Shooting Union grounds in Atlantis. Ludy Starke and his team of dedicated and hardworking club members had everything ready and set up by the time the first shooters arrived at about 0700. Not an easy task, considering that due to the rampant crime in the area, nothing could be left on the range, so the set up was completed early that Sunday morning.
