South African Precision Rifle Federation PR22 SHOOT

Precision rifle shooting was introduced into South Africa by Rob Ramsden and Steven Cox. Through their tremendous efforts, the sport has gone from strength to strength. It has now gained national recognition as well as membership of the International Precision Rifle Federation, the governing body for the sport worldwide. Locally, competitors are busy practicing and competing to get their ranking up so as to be able to compete in the first international competition due to be hosted in Hungary, Europe in 2022.

Back in 2019, Rob introduced the PR22 series. Not all ranges can accommodate the long distances required for a full centre-fire shoot

This, coupled with the ever-increasing cost of ammunition and the current disarray at the Central Firearms Registry, making it nearly impossible to change out a worn barrel on a centre fire rifle, meant that there was a real need for a cost-effective, readily available shoot where precision rifle shooters could practice their skills and perfect their positional shooting techniques.
