A GIANT CLASSIC!
Stan Weir was originally born in Glasgow, but has lived in Blyth Bridge, in the Scottish Borders, since before the millennium. He used to be a blacksmith, and has been collecting tractors for many years. He also organises regular road runs in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
“My father was a farm worker and travelled around various holdings,” he explained. “I used to get involved in the evenings and weekends, which is how I learned to drive a tractor. When I left school, I took an apprenticeship as a blacksmith.”
Career change
“I eventually decided to change my career, and switched to working as a lorry driver for several local companies. I’d leave on a Monday morning, and would be gone for the whole week. I also rented some space at a local farm and kept up my blacksmith trade going at
