John Balderstone from Telford has been a big fan of Massey Ferguson tractors for many years. He has lived in Shropshire all his life and is a retired tractor driver. He has always been a big fan of Massey Ferguson machinery, and there was a special reason he wanted to acquire an MF 65.
Memories
“It was the first tractor I drove when I was a teenager,” he explained. “I’ve always been fond of the MF 65, and the Massey has given me some special memories.”
John spent most of his working life driving tractors and was brought up on the family holding.
“My family owned a local farm of around 150 acres,” he recalls. “Holdings were a lot smaller back in the Fifties, and it was still possible to make a living from a farm this size.”
Although it is located close to the West Midlands conurbation, Shropshire is very much a farming community. By contrast, the area is also home to Iron Bridge Gorge, one of the birthplaces of the Industrial Revolution. The factories and mills are now a thing of the past, and tractors are in their element.
