The Mystery League
The first thing you see on the Mystery League website is a Sasquatchlike creature purposefully prowling through a forest tableau. It seems to be hunting for something. Where is it going? Why a Sasquatch? It’s a mystery that makes the visitor want to learn more.
Scroll a tad further down the website and you start to understand what it’s about.
Look closely at the colored letters. They spell out:
“The secret word is Amazing.” Diving into the roots of the word “amaze,” one learns it comes from the Middle English amasen, meaning “to overwhelm or confound with sudden surprise or wonder.” And really, isn’t that what puzzles and games do at their best—generate surprise and wonder?
The wonder behind the formation of the Mystery League is Sandor (Sandy) Weisz, a man on the hunt for producing exceptional puzzles.
