EVERYTHING NEW IN CAVE & CLIFFS PART II

INCREASED WORLD HEIGHT

Perhaps the biggest change to this version of the game is that the world no longer stops where it used to! That’s right: now if you tunnel down to where bedrock used to be, you’ll find yourself encountering deepslate and an additional 64 levels of rock that you can explore. The game has also added another 64 blocks in the sky, making the maximum height of the world level 320.

This isn’t just for new worlds, either – old worlds accessed in version 1.18 will add new layers on the top and bottom of existing map areas, and the new world generation type will blend seamlessly with the old one. For reference, deepslate starts to appear at around world level 5, where bedrock used to be, and world level 62 is sea level.

IMPROVED CAVES

The cave systems of the Overworld are fully overhauled, with new dripstone cave and lush cave biomes being added to the world generation,
