    Originally voted for at Minecon Live 2019 as the biome people would most like to see updated, the big announcement at Minecraft Live 2020 was that the mountains biome will be getting a new update, with improved cave and mountain generation, plus a host of fresh content. These improvements will appear in Java Edition 1.17 and Bedrock Edition 1.17.0 in what Mojang is calling the CAVE & CLIFFS UPDATE. And, boy, is there a lot to talk about! Note that some of the names might change, as many of these features haven’t yet been officially named.
