AS AN ACADEMIC I’ve worked a lot from home, but always commuted on foot or bicycle because I’ve lived nearby. Cardiff University – where I was co-director of the Centre for Automotive Industry Research at the Business School – was half-an-hour’s walk or a ten-minute ride.
