When it comes to renovating an existing garden, landscape designer Richard Unsworth likes to strike a balance between old and new. He sees it as an exciting process of weighing up where to edit, and where to add. “It’s about looking at the assets and the liabilities in the garden,” he says. “What is working and what isn’t? Which plants are enhancing the space and which ones need to come out?”
