Olympic star Mikaela Shiffrin fails to finish a second race at the 2022 Winter Games

Shiffrin, a two-time Olympic champion, failed to finish the women's slalom race on Wednesday. She previously won a gold medal in this competition in 2014 during the Sochi Olympics.

BEIJING — After skiing just five seconds into the first qualifying run of Wednesday's women's slalom at the Beijing Olympics, U.S. Olympic star Mikaela Shiffrin went off course and bailed out.
