From missing to murdered
In 2017, when Joseph Elledge, then 22, took his girlfriend Mengqi Ji, then 26, to Rock Bridge Memorial State Park in Columbia, he’d been planning to propose to her for months.
He’d even travelled to China to ask permission from Mengqi’s parents. With their blessing, he proposed at the memorial park near the couple’s home in the US.
And on 22 September 2017, they tied the knot, planned on having a big family – three to five kids.
