he 2ft gauge Bally Hooley railway at Port Douglas, north of Cairns in Queensland, has been closed due to Covid for a couple of years now now reports that it has ceased running permanently. The large local sugar cane mill, Mossman Central, which previously operated the train, has recovered the track for use in the cane fields and the railway’s locos are to become static exhibits at the Marina station in Port Douglas.
