Die Kaia is six kilometres outside Somerset East and lies on the Little Fish River, which flows towards Gqeberha and into the Indian Ocean.
The campsite belongs to Festha Erasmus, and is on the farm Grootplaas, which belongs to her and her husband Danie. Fifteen years ago, there was nothing here, Festha says, but they were looking for a picnic spot outside the town where people could come to relax. There was already grass growing
