Love Fest Fibers
Around the world, there are communities of women who make products that not only perpetuate a cultural fiber or handwork tradition, but also create a source of income. From the Appalachian region to India to South Africa and elsewhere, fibers, fabrics, yarn and buttons are often made by hand.
A unique company founded in 2015 sells yarn produced by Himalayan women. Love Fest Fibers, based in San Francisco, offers mostly chunky and super chunky yarns from natural and recycled fibers. Britt-Marie Alm is the owner and Chief String Slinger (her official title!) who has had a long love for the people and way of life in Tibet and Nepal.
