Astrology Goes to Love Island Who do you love?
When it comes to entertainment, love is always at the center of the story. Romance novels sell by the millions, and audiences can’t seem to get enough of television shows featuring romantic stories, or reality dating shows with contestants, real people, falling in and out of love. One of the more popular television shows of that type is one called Love Island. The one broadcast on American TV, Love Island USA, is based on the original British version, which has been seen in the UK since 2015. The American show first appeared on the CBS network on July 9, 2019, debuting at 8:00 p.m. EDT, which is the time we will use for a chart representing it. That first season proved to be very popular, so the series was renewed for two additional seasons, in 2020 and 2021. The show is hosted by Arielle Vandenberg and narrated by Matthew Hoffman.
The first season took place at Villa Takali inFiji, alocationselectedby the producers as a place where people “could imagine themselves falling in love.” The Covid-19 pandemic forced a switch to a villa in Las Vegas in season two, and the third season was set in Hawaii. The show itself is simple: 12 contestants, six women and six men, pair off in the first episode and become part of a couple. Throughout the show they can either decide to remain together, or break up and find someone else. While they are engaging in their game of swapping partners, people watching the show can express their opinions of the goings-on by voting on whether a couple can remain on the show
