Capture the energy of the sea
The sea is one of the most captivating subjects to explore; the eye never tires of the constant motion and ever-shifting light. The sights, sounds, smells, and the physical activity of exploring, all contribute to the invigorating experience of painting by the sea. Observing the light, colour and movement as it rapidly changes teaches me so much, as I am forced to look carefully and respond quickly.
Capturing motion and form
If it is your first time painting the sea I would recommend starting small and zooming-out on the scene.
