RIGHT FIRST TIME

The way things are at the moment, I don’t get out much, but on the rare occasion I do go out and you do happen to see me, and I have a stupid grin on my face, I can explain why.

Experience

Over the many years I have been working on all types of machinery very, very rarely do things go right the first time. I have modified, altered, bodged, improved, fettled, chopped about, made things worse, made things better on many and varied bits of equipment. Sometimes I have got it nearly right, maybe a bit welded on there, maybe a bit chopped off here, other times I have removed said job and chucked it on the scrap heap in disgust. This time, however, I can smugly announce I got it exactly right the first time.

I am talking about the modification I did to the movable hay racks I did a couple of months ago. Even with a full bale of hay packed in and sopping wet underfoot and surrounded by a flock of hungry sheep, can move them about easily. It has even been possible (with a bit of shunting) to turn them around
