AS SHE RECEIVES THE QUEEN’S HIGHEST HONOUR THE DUCHESS OF CORNWALL IS PRAISED FOR HER DEDICATION AND DUTY AS EXPERTS TALK OF HER INFLUENCE ON CHARLES

It is the highest honour the Queen can bestow, with holders including former Prime Ministers, fellow monarchs and military leaders.

So her awarding of the UK’s oldest and most senior order of chivalry to the Duchess of Cornwall is the ultimate royal seal of approval for the wife of her son and heir.

Last week, Camilla was named a Royal Lady of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, a personal gift from the Queen that reflects how much she values her daughter-in-law’s role at the heart of the monarchy.

“This is the Queen giving her approval to the Duchess and recognising her importance in the royal family,” a royal source tells HELLO!.

Hugo Vickers, author and an expert on the Garter, said: “It’s an indication of the Queen’s total confidence in the Duchess of Cornwall.”
