Wern Mill Caravan Park, Ceredigion
Renovated to an excellent standard by its young owners, what was once a field with 70 pitches, is now a 45-pitch piece of heaven located in Gilfachrheda, a few miles from New Quay in Ceredigion, with second-to-none facilities, including a pop-up bar!
As its name suggests, Wern Mill was once a mill, and the associated river is part of a lovely woodland walk directly from the site, with a couple of waterfalls thrown in, leading to the sea, a little over a mile away. Cei Bach Beach, at the end of this walk, is the northernmost extent of a stretch of sand leading, at low tide, all the way into New Quay, its brightly painted houses visible above the harbour around a mile away. The walk is lovely when the sun is setting.
New Quay is, perhaps, the most picturesque resort along this coast, and has all the facilities that such a resort should have. Sandy beach, tick. Pretty harbour, tick. Fish and chips, tick… and a pub or two!
